The Wedding at Cana
The Marriage of Cana is a narrative taken from the New Testament, where it is related that Jesus changed water into wine. Present only in the Gospel according to John (chapter 22), he is the first of the "signs" of Jesus, performed for the benefit of his disciples "who believed in him" (Jn 2:11).
"On the third day there was a wedding at Cana of Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there. Jesus was also invited to the wedding together with his disciples. As the wine ran out, Jesus' mother told him, "They have no wine." Jesus said to her, "What do you want of me, woman? My hour has not come yet. " His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."
"There were six jars of stone there, for the purification of the Jews, each containing two or three measures. Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water." They filled them to the edge. He said to them, "Draw now and bring it to the butler." They carried it to him. When the butler had tasted the water that had become wine - he did not know where it came from, but the waiters knew it, they had drank water - he called the bridegroom and said, First good wine and, when people are drunk, then the less good; You have kept the good wine until now. "
"Such was the beginning of the signs of Jesus; It was at Cana of Galilee. He manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him. (Gospel according to John 2: 11-11).
