Quality lime-cement mortar sculpture (6 months of work) of a giant Philippe Marin style paint tube, on the Pontoise-Giverny road from Pontoise (A15) by Magny en Vexin, Bray and Lû, Fourges .. (D37)

Passersby who drive from Pontoise to go to Giverny, (tourism Impressionism, Claude Monet) will note with pleasure the signage of the common heritage also with the island of France; I wish that they also visit Auvers-sur-Oise, Vétheuil, other historic cities on the Seine, around Paris. It is in these two regions (and indeed all of France) that Impressionism was born around the 1860s. In 1843, the screw-cap paint tube was invented, which was the essential tool for starting Impressionism, so to be able to leave the academy, the urban workshop, then go (by the new trains besides) easily to paint a few hours the campaign, his village, his family, his friends, his company.

This sculpture was made (voluntarily) from December 2014 to July 2015.
A big job, 2, 8 tons of mortars that I learned to use carefully on wood structures, welded metal, grids etc ...
With zero euros, no public subsidies, (but occasional technical aids of several municipalities, individuals, companies, associations) I still managed to find these materials and to work with pleasure, even under the rains, winds, mosquitoes ...

The Artist : Pierre Marcel Saint-Clair-sur-Epte

I paint in cultural and ecological expressions, so not just in simple "Contemporary Art" Since my youth a sincere worker of intense, positive, figur'active arts, I have worked every day in my art for forty five years and even to whole worlds (France, USA, Russia).
My best paintings are still available at ST Clair.
My public workshop is at La Salle du Prieuré, 3 place Rollon, 95770 Saint Clair sur Epte. It is the historic Ile-de-France village of the creation of Normandy, during the 911 peace treaty with the Vikings. This is how I promote this peace treaty, and constantly realize (by paintings, sculptures, decorations, frescoes, Land art installations) links between the 3 regions where I am an artist in this valley of the Epte , this crossroads Île de France, Normandy, Haut de France ...

Volunteer activity of course, because the cultural administrations of the regions in France I bring them together in sympathy, I am an activist of Peace, of the inter-social. (I am also an American citizen, having started my career for 22 years in Miami-Beach, Florida, having participated in saving the Art-Deco area of Miami-Beach)

I am interested in social news (culture, news, ecology etc ...) and local cultural heritages. This is how my figurative-conceptual painting and my “land art” and “Streets-art” installations present the artist as a possible useful and pleasant actor in his contemporary society. My Land Art and my figurative-conceptual painting style are therefore actions of public F IGUR'ACTIF style arts.
