To paint is to give the material an expressive force. Painting faces in powerful and vivid colors, I am trying to restore human feelings.
Originally from Mexico, JY RENDO came to France about fifteen years ago, attracted by Paris and the energy of this city. Although he has always used the brush and the pencils, he has nevertheless chosen to develop his artistic sensibility by himself, on the fringe of schools and institutions.
To paint is according to JY RENDO to give the material an expressive force. Painting faces in powerful and vivid colors, he seeks to restore the human feelings that surface on the face. The portrait then becomes, for the spectator, a mirror in which his own emotions are reflected.
We can therefore speak of a sensory painting concerning the work of JY RENDO. The purpose of the artist is to reveal the strong feelings that enamel life. This approach is part of a very humanistic research of the artist, a desire to touch, with the brush, to what man conceals more intimate.
The very lively gesture with which JY RENDO paints gives his works a great vitality, a brutality, which he will counterbalance with bright and vivid colors. It emerges from his style a vitality, an energy that carries the viewer, inviting him to feel life in turn with intensity.
