Born in Ghent, 1873 - died at Schaerbeek, 1927 ,.
He was born in Ghent on 6 January 1873 and died at Schaerbeek on 16 February 1927. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent from 1888 to 1890. He was married on 27 June 1900 in Ghent with Jeannette VAN HOORDE. Leave Ghent on June 7, 1901 for Saint-Josse rue Verte 111 where he is taken again as "plaster moulder". Arrived at Schaerbeek on September 2, 1902. Has lived successively rue des Palais 163, rue Stéphenson 56 (54) and rue Discailles 25. It is first taken up again in the commercial registers as "plaster moulder" but since 1907 it Is designated as a sculptor. Worked for the Establishments Carli and Brothers rue l'Olivier in Schaerbeek until 1925. Then would have had his own workshop in Ixelles.
He mainly created busts "Art Nouveau" but also children, Pierrot, ani-maux, ... on different supports: marble, bronze, regulates, terracotta, plaster.
He has sometimes been confused in books with Joseph Jean-Baptist VAN VAEREN-BERGH.
